M. Glen Johnson, PhD Professor Emeritus of Political Science
Social activism is most often viewed as visible public actions in support of social causes. We tend to identify social activists as leaders of so-called movements. The truth is, however, that we are all activists in our own lanes. Our class participated in anti-war demonstrations, Main building take-overs, tutoring programs, charitable fund-raisers, community food pantries... Fifty years later, we are still “social activists.” During this interactive program we will share our experiences, and as a special treat we will be joined by M. Glen Johnson. Throughout his tenure at Vassar College, his international professional presence, and his entire life, Glen has truly exemplified social activism. We are indeed honored to have “Professor Johnson” as our special guest.
