About Rockefeller Hall
Built in 1897 through the generosity of John D. Rockefeller, Rockefeller Hall was Vassar’s first “general” academic building, with classrooms, faculty offices, and lecture halls. Today, “Rocky” is home to the departments of Mathematics & Statistics, Philosophy, and Political Science, and features “smart” classrooms and seminar rooms in addition to two semicircular lecture halls.
