Visit the Greenhouse
The Olmsted Greenhouse welcomes Vassar students during regular open hours and members of the surrounding community by appointment.
Hours
The greenhouse is open to Vassar students Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During these hours, the bright green doors leading into the greenhouse from Olmsted Hall are unlocked.
Community visits are available by appointment. To arrange a visit, contact the Greenhouse Manager at greenhouse@vassar.edu.
Directions
The greenhouse is attached to Olmsted Hall and faces Skinner Hall of Music.
From the South Gate parking lot, take the stairs beside Skinner Hall, continue down the hill, and walk straight across the small bridge.
From the Shakespeare Garden, walk down the steps, turn right, and exit through the gate.
From the Bridge for Laboratory Sciences, enter Olmsted Hall through the door across from the Bridge Cafe. Take the first stairs or the elevator to the B level. Turn right from the stairs or continue straight from the elevator. The green greenhouse doors will be on your left.
Visitor Parking
Accessible parking is available directly outside the greenhouse. From Raymond Avenue, enter campus through the Chapel Gate, make the first right, and continue down the hill. The greenhouse and accessible parking spaces will be on your left.
All other visitors should park in the South Gate parking lot, located at the first campus entrance on the right when traveling north on Raymond Avenue.
