Carnivorous Plants
Carnivorous plants such as the Venus Fly Trap pictured below, have adapted to living in soil with very little nutrients. These plants obtain most of their essential nutrients from the prey they consume. At the greenhouse, we hand-feed our carnivorous plants live crickets raised by Vassar’s Animal Research Facility.
