Director of Engaged Pluralism

Dear All,

As you may know, Jonathon Kahn is completing his three-year term as Director of Engaged Pluralism and Special Advisor to the College on Inclusion and Engaged Pluralism at the end of this academic year. Jonathon has done a remarkable job in this role, and I am grateful for his partnership and, in particular, his shepherding Engaged Pluralism in its first institutionalized years after the Mellon grant ended. Please join me in expressing our collective thanks to Jonathon for his dedication, creativity, and steadfast leadership during this time.

In seeking the next Director of Engaged Pluralism, who will also serve on the Senior Team as the Special Advisor to the College on Inclusion and Engaged Pluralism, for a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2024, I invite tenured faculty who may be interested in the position to contact me, so that we can discuss the responsibilities of the role and your interests in it.  Excellence in teaching, experience in working with students, faculty, administrator, staff, and community members and dedication to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are important for the person fulfilling this role.

I hope to identify the candidates for the next Director of Engaged Pluralism this semester; candidates will be interviewed by the Coordinating Committee of Engaged Pluralism, who will make a recommendation to me. I hope to appoint the Director in the spring semester. I look forward to hearing from all who are interested in exploring the opportunity. Thank you.
