Vigil for Peace

March 1, 2022

Dear all,

I am writing to let you know more information on the Vigil for Peace to be held tomorrow evening on campus. I am grateful to the many students, many with connections to the Ukraine region, who helped plan this event, which is sponsored by the Office of International Services and Religious and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practices. Here are the details.

A Candlelight Vigil for Peace
Standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine
Wednesday, March 2
6:00 p.m.
Peace Garden, adjacent to the Aula, Ely Hall

Humanitarian contributions to people in Ukraine can be brought to the vigil, and more information will be shared there about how people may give. Needed contributions include:

  • Winter clothing
  • Children's toys
  • Baby formula
  • First aid kits (alcohol wipes, bandaids)
  • Basic medication (Advil, aspirin)
  • Personal and feminine hygiene products
  • Blankets, sleeping mats/bags
  • Instant meals/energy bars/canned food
  • Backpacks

Additionally, a drop box is already available in the College Center in Main (by the ATM machine) for contributions. Clean, second-hand items are accepted. Medication and food should be sealed.

See you there.
