Polling Site at Vassar Tomorrow

November 7, 2022

Dear all,

Following up on my Sunday email I am writing with some important news. We were informed this afternoon that last week’s ruling by the Dutchess County Supreme Court designating a polling site on-campus, will stand and that by law the site must be available tomorrow. With last week’s ruling and the news this afternoon, we  are currently underway with preparing the Aula (in Ely Hall) to welcome students and the local community tomorrow on Election Day.

I would like to thank all of the students, faculty, administrators and community groups who have worked tirelessly throughout the years, exercising their voices to advocate for and help make this on-campus polling site a reality. The impact of your undying efforts will be felt for years to come and will benefit not only future generations of Vassar students, but also the community at large.

Following are some important details everyone should know to help ensure you are fully prepared and so that the process runs as smooth as possible:

All registered voters (including non-students) from election districts 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4 can vote at Vassar College campus. The prior poll sites for 6-2 (Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church), 6-3 and 6-4 (Dutchess County Waste Water Authority) will continue to remain open for voters as well. Vassar College campus will be an additional poll site giving the voters an option as to where they prefer to vote in those three election districts. Polls are open from 6:00am until 9:00pm.

Thank you again to all those who have been involved in helping bring the polling site on-campus and I hope everyone enjoys exercising their vote.
