Founder’s Day Update

April 29, 2022

Dear all,

As Founder’s Day approaches, it is a good time to plan ahead. How do you want the day to go? How will you keep yourself and your friends healthy despite the prevalence of COVID-19 and nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea among students? We did think about canceling Founder’s Day (FD) but then also know how much work students, staff, and administrators have put into planning the event. Plus, we all need time to socialize and enjoy the spring weather outside. Therefore, we have decided to proceed with FD, which is primarily outside.

Here is an anagram to help you stay safe: (OMG_FD!):

  • O: OUTSIDE, STAY OUTSIDE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
  • M: MASK INSIDE, ALWAYS.
  • G: GET COVID-19 TESTED
  • F: FORGET THE PARTY INSIDE (not worth it); FEELING LOUSY? STAY HOME.
  • D: DRINK WATER, HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!

Everyone needs to catch a break before study period and exams, and we want to facilitate that. We also want to be protected from infectious disease. This is largely in our control. Please wear masks and follow the above guidance, and have fun!
