Vassar’s new NetVUE grant, supported by the Council of Independent Colleges and Lilly Endowment Inc., is led by Wendy Maragh Taylor, Associate Dean of the College for Student Growth and Engagement, and Tamyka Jordon-Conlin, Assistant Professor of Music.

NetVUE’s overarching goal is “to increase the capacity of independent colleges and universities to support their undergraduate students as they explore and discern their many callings in life.” Their professional development awards are one-year grants that help faculty and staff consider vocation and calling on their campuses.

At Vassar, the project co-leads will host a series of professional development activities, including a keynote speaker, pedagogical workshops and facilitated conversations, story-mapping sessions, and a celebration of faculty champions to build institutional capacity for considering and co-creating vocation/calling throughlines across a variety of key campus stakeholders.

The project’s aim is to facilitate meaningful conversations among administrators and faculty to clarify notions of vocation/calling and its potential ties to coursework, student club activities, and the varied communities in which we work and live.
