Tamyka Jordon-Conlin
Assistant Professor of Music

Tamyka Jordon-Conlin is a music theorist and composer. She received a MM in Composition and a PhD in Music Theory from Louisiana State University. Jordon-Conlin previously served at Wiley College as Assistant Professor and was the official accompanist of The A Cappella Choir. She is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Vassar College where she teaches theory and history. Jordon-Conlin serves on the Steering Committee for Africana Studies at Vassar and on the editorial board for Music Theory Online. She recently participated on a panel at AMS/SMT in Denver concerning music theory and historically Black colleges and universities. Her main interests are popular music, hip-hop, rap, and Afrofuturism.
