With new funding from the Scholars at Risk Network (SAR), Vassar’s Drama Department will welcome to the college this fall Patricia Achiro Olwoch as Visiting Artist and Instructor. Achiro, who hails from Gulu in Northern Uganda, is an award-winning writer, director, and producer with multiple publications, including these in Guernica, Exposition Review, and Pen America.

While she’s at Vassar, in addition to her scholarly pursuits, Achiro will teach two courses in Drama and share her valuable experience and scholarship with colleagues in the Film Department and Women, Feminist, and Queer Studies Program as well.
