The Dyson Foundation (Millbrook, NY) awarded Vassar a grant in support of the Wimpfheimer Nursery School’s playground equipment campaign, which in summer 2025 raised more than $40,000 primarily from Wimpfheimer families and friends. Since 1927, children have been learning through play at Vassar's Wimpfheimer Nursery School, fast approaching its centennial year. The Dyson Foundation's generous grant joins a groundswell of community support that will allow Vassar to replace the Nursery School’s cherished, yet worn wooden structures and playground fixtures that have served countless children for 30 years. Upgrades include a new playhouse, toddler climber, adventure stage, and other features to inspire discovery and physical development in Wimpfheimer children for years to come.
