“What Grimms’ Fairy Tales Tell Us about Resistance and Survival”

Internationally acclaimed German artist Barbara Beisinghoff will present an artist talk titled “What Grimms’ Fairy Tales Tell Us about Resistance and Survival.”
Beisinghoff will discuss how her artwork engages with the subversive dimensions of the Grimms’ fairy tales. Her artist’s book, Die wilden Schwäne: Brennessel Märchen (The Wild Swans: Stinging Nettle Fairy Tales), is a centerpiece of the exhibition of illustrated editions of the Brothers Grimm currently on view in Vassar’s Main Library.
