MODfest 2023: Bill Barclay ’03: “The Meaning of a Master”
Skinner Hall of Music
Hailed as a ‘personable polymath’ in the London Times, Bill Barclay ’03 is a director, composer, writer, and producer. Recently appointed Artistic Director of Music Before 1800, he is also the Artistic Director of Concert Theatre Works. His Broadway and West End credits include Farinelli and the King, Twelfth Night, and Richard III, all starring Mark Rylance. He joins us to discuss his work Le Chevalier, a full-length play detailing Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges’ true friendships with Mozart and Marie Antoinette, and his unknown contribution to the abolishment of slavery.
