Accreditation Timeline

Vassar’s reaccreditation process spans multiple years and is organized into distinct phases of planning, evidence collection, analysis, and reporting. The timeline below outlines key milestones from the launch of the self-study through the Spring 2028 evaluation team visit and Commission action.

2025–2026

Phase 1: Design and Launch

  • Establish steering committee and working groups
  • Define institutional priorities and lines of inquiry
  • Submit self-study design document to Middle States
  • Begin evidence collection and analysis

2026–2027

Phase 2 & 3: Analysis and Drafting

  • Working groups review data and assess strengths and areas for improvement
  • Draft and revise self-study chapters
  • Prepare a comprehensive self-study report

2027–2028

Phase 4: Review and Evaluation

  • Campus community reviews draft report and provides feedback
  • Final report submitted to Middle States
  • Evaluation team visit and institutional response
  • Commission action and accreditation decision
