Vassar Secures Funding from Woodward Fund

Under the direction of Colleen Mallet, Director of Veteran Students Outreach and Support, Vassar secured a new grant from the Watertown Committee of the David, Helen and Marian Woodward Fund to continue supporting the Woodward Fund Veterans Internships. This funding enables Vassar veterans to participate in summer internships that might not otherwise be possible due to financial constraints.

Internship recipient selection is managed by the Center for Career Education with leadership and support from Associate Dean for Career Education Stacy Bingham and Associate Director of Fellowships, Funding, and Communications Aimee Cunningham.

Past internships have included positions with Bloomberg LP Philanthropies, the Warrior-Scholar Project, and the New York State Senate. Vassar’s commitment to veterans is long-standing; most recently, the college launched the Vassar Veterans Initiative (VassarVets) to expand outreach to U.S. military service members and veterans. VassarVets supports veteran students’ success by providing assistance with navigating the admission process, specialized advising, and opportunities to build community on campus.
