Men’s Soccer
Vassar (10-2-1, 4-1-1 Liberty League) blanked St. Lawrence University, 2-0, October 16 on Gordon Field. Eamon Geraghty ’22 opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the 30th minute, and Owen Fauth ’23 added an insurance goal on a pass from Quinn Tunnell ’22 midway through the second half.
Duncan Keker ’25 broke a scoreless tie in the 88th minute as Vassar defeated Clarkson University, 1-0, October 15 on Gordon Field. Keker scored on a pass from Kyle Lopes ’23.
Vassar and Skidmore fought to a 1-1 draw October 9 on Gordon Field. Tunnell opened the scoring just four minutes into the game. Skidmore netted the tying goal two minutes later.
Tunnell scored in the third minute, and Vassar went on to defeat Union College, 2-0, October 2 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. Ryan Lane ’23 capped the scoring 10 minutes later.
Vassar edged Bard College, 1-0, September 29 on the Bard campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. Tunnell scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute on a pass from Geraghty ’22.
The Brewers opened their Liberty League season with a 2-1 loss to Rochester Institute of Technology September 25 on the RIT campus. Austin Lukasik ’22 opened the scoring in the 25th minute on an assist from Geraghty, but RIT tied the score 11 minutes later and netted the game winner in the 61st minute.
Teddy Borgos ’24 scored in the 67th minute, and Vassar defeated Manhattanville College, 1-0, September 22 on Gordon Field. Ryan Lane ’23 and Lukasik assisted on the goal.
Borgos and Nathan Logan ’22 scored goals in Vassar’s 2-0 victory over SUNY Plattsburgh September 18 in Plattsburgh, NY.
Andrew Goldsmith ’22 scored on a penalty kick in the 87th minute in Vassar’s 1-0 victory over the State University of New York at New Paltz September 15 on Gordon Field. The Brewers outshot the Hawks, 11-6, and had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
Lane scored both goals in Vassar’s 2-0 win over Stevens Institute of Technology September 11 on Gordon Field.
Vassar jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half and went on to defeat SUNY Cobleskill, 4-1, on September 8 on the Cobleskill campus. Lopes opened the scoring in the 4th minute, and Logan tallied 13 minutes later on a pass from Lukasik.
Keker scored the winning goal in the 76th minute as Vassar defeated Mount Saint Mary College, 2-1, September 4 on Gordon Field.
Derek Sando ’25 scored the Brewers’ only goal in a 3-1 loss to Western Connecticut State University September 1 on the Western Connecticut campus in Danbury, CT.
Women’s Soccer
Vassar (8-4-1, 3-2-1 Liberty League) defeated St. Lawrence University, 2-0, October 16 on the St. Lawrence campus in Canton, NY. Jacqueline Morrison ’24 and Isabel Leinenweber ’23 scored for the Brewers.
Skylar Herrera-Ross ’22 and Noelle Namba ’25 scored in the second half, propelling Vassar to a 2-0 win over Clarkson University October 15 on the Clarkson campus in Potsdam, NY. Riley Lipman ’25 assisted on Herrera-Ross’s goal, and Olivia Lavelle ’24 got the assist on Namba’s tally.
The Brewers outshot Skidmore College, 9-5, but lost the game, 3-0, October 9 on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Backed by a strong defense, Vassar blanked SUNY New Paltz, 2-0, October 6 at Gordon Field. Goalkeeper Claire Mackenzie ’24 stopped both New Paltz shots on goal, and Justine Tapert ’24 and London Wilkes ’25 supplied the scoring.
Union College posted a 2-1 victory over Vassar on October 2 on Gordon Field. Sara Rubinelli ’22 tallied for the Brewers on a pass from Jessica Young ’23.
The Brewers scored four goals in the first 36 minutes and went on to blank Bard College, 6-0, September 29 on Gordon Field. Tapert opened the scoring nine minutes into the game on a pass from Ariana Pjetri ’24. Pjetri capped the scoring with a goal in the final minute on an assist from Adie Amore ’23.
Young scored on a pass from Rubinelli with less than three minutes left in regulation, and Vassar earned a 2-2 draw with Liberty League rival Rochester Institute of Technology September 25 on Gordon Field.
Goalkeeper Julia Reigrut ’25 made eight saves, propelling Vassar to a 1-0 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology September 21 on the Stevens campus in Hoboken, NJ. Herrera-Ross scored the lone goal in the 29th minute on a penalty kick.
Vassar defeated SUNY Oneonta, 4-2, September 18 at Gordon Field. The Brewers broke a broke a 2-2 tie in the 86th minute on an own-goal during a scramble in front the Oneonta net. Herrera-Ross tallied an insurance goal two minutes later on a pass from Rubinelli.
The Brewers surrendered two second-half goals and lost, 4-2, to Western Connecticut State University September 15 on the WestConn campus in Danbury, CT. Madison Bouggess ’25 and Herrera-Ross scored for Vassar.
Vassar fell to the University of Scranton, 2-0, September 11 on Gordon Field. The Brewers registered five shots on goal.
Rubinelli scored the game-winner in the 84th minute, propelling Vassar to a 2-1 victory over Montclair State University September 8 at Gordon Field.
Morrison scored on a pass from Namba in the 55th minute, and Vassar went on to defeat New York University, 1-0, September 4 at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
Field Hockey
Carina D’Souza ’22 scored a pair of goals to lead Vassar (10-3, 3-2 Liberty League) to a 6-0 victory over Liberty League rival Union College October 17 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. Goalkeeper Sarah Dumaresq ’24 stopped three Union shots.
Ithaca College scored in the 56th minute, defeating Vassar, 1-0, October 15 on Weinberg Turf Field. Vassar and Ithaca each registered five shots on goal.
Carina D’Souza ’22 scored 54 seconds into overtime to propel Vassar to a 4-3 victory over Liberty League rival St. Lawrence University October 9 at Weinberg Turf Field. St. Lawrence had tied the game with two late goals, but D’Souza secured the win on a scramble in front of the net.
Hailey Brigger ’24 assisted on one goal and scored another in Vassar’s 3-0 win over Skidmore College October 2 on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs.
Vassar lost its opening Liberty League contest to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1-0, September 26 on Weinberg Turf Field. The Engineers scored in the 46th minute.
Brigger scored early in the first half, and Leilani llamas ’25 added a late insurance goal in Vassar’s 2-0 victory over Ramapo College September 22 on Weinberg Turf Field.
D’Souza triggered a seven-goal, second-half barrage with a pair of goals in Vassar’s 8-0 win over William Paterson University September 18 on Weinberg Turf Field.
Gianna Trunfio ’25 and Maggie Werner ’24 scored in the first 10 minutes, and the Brewers hung on to defeat Montclair (NJ) State University, 3-2, September 15 on Weinberg Turf Field. Brigger scored the third Brewer goal. Jaclyn Narleski ’24 had two assists.
Kean (NJ) University, ranked 10th in the country, edged Vassar in double overtime, 1-0, September 11 on Weinberg Turf Field. Dumaresq had 11 saves.
Vassar blanked Western Connecticut State University, 3-0, September 8 on the WestConn campus in Danbury, CT. Brigger opened the scoring at 13:21 of the first period after taking a pass from Narleski. Ella Pearl ’23 and Avery Bauman ’23 also scored for the Brewers.
The Brewers won both matches at the Betty Richey Tournament on Weinberg Turf Field, edging Marywood College, 1-0, on September 3 and defeating Stevens Institute of Technology, 5-3, on September 5. Avery Bauman ‘23 scored the lone goal in the match against Marywood in the fourth quarter. Pearl scored twice in the victory over Stevens.
Bauman scored Vassar’s first goal of the season, and the Brewers went on to defeat Smith College, 5-1, September 1 on Weinberg Turf Field. Bauman scored on a cross from Maggie Werner ’24. Pearl, Brigger, Trunfio, and Sophie McGrath ’22 also tallied for Vassar.
Women’s Cross Country
Vassar finished 14th in a field of 26 teams at the Connecticut College Caroline Grape ’22 Memorial Blue Race October 16 in Waterford, CT. Sasha Allison ’22 was the Brewers’ top scorer with a 23rd-place finish. She posted a time of 21:02.10 in the 6K race.
Allison and Augusta Stockman ’23 posted top-10 finishes to lead Vassar to a fourth-place finish in a field of 24 teams at the James Earley Invitational October 9 in Westfield, MA. Allison was third overall in the 5K race with a time of 18:19.6. Stockman was fifth, finishing in 18:34.8.
Allison paced Vassar to a third-place finish in a seven-team field September 25 at the Saratoga Invitational in Saratoga Springs, NY. Allison was fourth overall with a time of 23:49.2 in the 6K race. Noni Pattington ’25 finished seventh.
Allison led Vassar to a third-place finish in a field of nine teams at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational September 11 on the Vassar campus. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute won the event, and the United States Coast Guard Academy finished second. Allison was third overall. Stockman and Pattington were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the field of 95 runners.
Allison led the Brewers to victory in the 3K Vassar Season Starter September 1 at Vassar Farm. The Brewers defeated SUNY New Paltz, Union College, and Bard College. Allison posted a time of 11:42.6. Pattington was third overall, and Amaayi Miryagalia ’24 was fifth.
Men’s Cross Country
Miles Takiguchi ’23 paced Vassar to a seventh-place finish in a field of 26 teams at the Connecticut College Invitational October 16 in Waterford, CT. Takiguchi was 19th overall with a season-best time of 25:23.60 in the 8K race. Reed Dolan ’22 was 31st, and Jack Casalino ’22 finished 33rd.
Vassar topped a field of 24 teams October 9 at the James Earley Invitational in Westfield, MA. Simon LaClair ’24 was first overall in the “Blue” race, and Takiguchi set a personal best in the 8K “White” race, finishing second with a time of 25:31.8.
Vassar defeated six other teams at the Saratoga Invitational September 25 in Saratoga Springs, NY. Takiguchi finished second overall in the 8K race in 25:53.3 and was one of five Vassar runners in the top 10. Casalino was fifth in 25:58.7, and Johnathan Dean ’22 was sixth with a career-best 26:00.2. Vassar defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Ithaca College, Union College, Westfield (MA) State University, Saint Rose College, and Sage College.
Vassar finished second in a four-team field at the New Paltz Invite September 17 in Milton, NY. Levi Lilienthal ’25 finished fourth overall in the 8K race with a time of 29:32.50. Nick Redstone ’25, Andrew Blackburn ’24, and Jason Cirrito ’25 were fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively. SUNY New Paltz finished first in the team competition. Mount Saint Mary was third, and Brooklyn College finished fourth.
Four Vassar runners finished in the top seven, propelling Vassar to victory in the Ron Stonitsch Invitational September 11 on the Vassar campus. Casalino and Takiguchi were third and fourth, respectively. Dolan was sixth and Dean finished seventh in the 91-runner field. The Brewers defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Delhi, Ramapo College, SUNY New Paltz, Bard College, and the Sage Colleges.
Vassar captured the top five spots to defeat SUNY New Paltz, Union College, and Bard College September 1 at the Vassar Season Starter at Vassar Farm. Dolan finished first overall with a time of 12:52.0 in the 4,000-meter race. Takiguchi was second, and Casalino was third.
Women’s Volleyball
Sara Ehnstrom ’22 registered 23 kills, and Madison Wilson ’22 recorded 40 assists as Vassar (6-8, 2-3 Liberty League) posted a 3-1 win over Bard College October 13 in Kenyon Hall.
Clarkson University blanked Vassar, 3-0, October 9 in Potsdam, NY. Morgan Miller ’25 registered five kills, and Ehnstrom and Hailey Hayes ’25 each added four.
Vassar fell to St. Lawrence University, 3-0, October 8 in Canton, NY. The Brewers lost by scores of 25-21, 25-13, and 25-22. Hayes had seven kills, a service ace, and a block assist.
The Brewers posted a pair of victories on the SUNY Oneonta campus October 2, defeating the hosts in five sets and blanking Alfred College, 3-0. Hayes registered a total of 39 kills in the two matches.
Hayes had 13 kills and Ehnstrom added 12 in Vassar’s straight-set win over Union College September 25.
Vassar fell to Skidmore College, 3-1, September 24 on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs. The Brewers lost the first set and won the second but dropped the last two. Claire Basler-Chang ’22 paced the Brewers with 16 kills.
Williams College blanked the Brewers, 3-0, September 15 on the Williams campus in Williamstown, MA. Hayes registered 10 kills.
The Brewers won their first two matches of the year September 11, defeating Fitchburg (MA) State University and Clark University on the Clark campus in Worcester, MA. Vassar posted a 3-0 win over Fitchburg and edged Clark, 3-2. Hayes had 12 kills in the win over Fitchburg. Basler-Chang had 24 kills in the victory over Clark.
Vassar fell in five sets to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy September 7 at Kenyon Hall. The Brewers won the second and third sets by 25-14 scores but dropped the final two sets. Basler-Chang registered 12 kills and 21 digs. Wilson had 39 assists and two service aces.
Vassar dropped three matches at the University of Scranton (PA) Tournament September 3 and 4. The Brewers fell to the host squad in four sets, lost in straight sets to Lebanon Valley College, and dropped a five-set match to Western Connecticut State University. Basler-Chang had 13 kills in the losses to Scranton and Lebanon Valley and 11 in the match against Western Connecticut. Wilson registered a total of 87 assists in the three matches.
Women’s Tennis
Vassar defeated Holy Cross University, 4-1, on October 3 on the Holy Cross campus in Worcester, MA. Melina Stavropoulos ’22 won her #3 singles match, 6-1, 6-2, and teamed with Sofie Shen ’24 for an 8-4 victory in #1 doubles.
Macey Dowd ’25 lost a quarterfinal match to Josie Libby at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regionals September 19 in Geneva, NY. Dowd and doubles partner Stavropoulos lost to sisters Krisia and Lorna Flores Gomez of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 8-2. The pair had defeated a team from the College of New Jersey, 8-5, on September 18.
Vassar posted four victories on the second day of the Vassar Scramble September 12 on Jocelyn Courts. Dowd defeated Trinity Chow of SUNY New Paltz, 6-3, 6-2. Cara Kizilbash ’22 defeated Pearl Nguyen of New York University, 6-3, 6-4. Shen breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Alex Chimenti of New Paltz, and Nicole Pihlstrom ’22 won a marathon over NYU’s Jamaica Buyse, 0-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Men’s Tennis
Benjamin Almquist ’24 paced the Brewers, advancing to the Round of 16 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regionals October 2 and 3 in Geneva, NY. Almquist fell to top seeded Aidan Drover-Mattinen of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 6-4, 6-1.
Two Vassar doubles teams won their matches against Stevens Institute of Technology September 25 at the College of New Jersey Tennis Complex in Ewing, NJ. Matthew Yee ’22 and Jay Wong ’24 defeated a team from Stevens, 8-7 and 7-5. Almquist and Arnav Agostinho ’25 won their match, 8-4.
Women’s Golf
Sufana Noorwez ’24 capped her season with an 18th-place finish in a field of 41 at the NYU Invitational October 16 and 17 at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, NJ. Noorwez posted scores of 83 and 81. Hannah Levine ’25 was 33rd, and Victoria Barrios Cabral ’25 placed 36th.
Noorwez finished tied for ninth overall at the Williams Fall Invitational October 2 and 3 in Williamstown, MA. Noorwez carded scores of 86 and 79.
Noorwez had the lowest second-round score in the tournament and finished second overall at the Cortaca Northeast Invitational September 25 and 26 in Cortland, NY. She had rounds of 82 and 75.
Noorwez finished 18th overall at the George Phinney Golf Classic hosted by Middlebury College September 18 and 19 in Middlebury, VT. She carded rounds of 84 and 79.
Noorwez finished 24th overall at the Hamilton College Invitational September 11 and 12 in New Hartford, NY. Noorwez posted scores of 78 and 86.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Vassar capped its 96-46 win over Bard College with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay October 13 at Kresge Pool. The team of Brandon Li ’22, Nikolas Pham ’25, Tyler Tsukuda ’25, and Ben Glazebnik ’25 covered the distance in 1:30.87.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
Vassar opened the season with a 104-48 victory over Bard College at Kresge Pool. Jesse Ecklund ’22, Abby Jenkins ’22, Alejandra Robins ’24, and Abby Whittington ’24 kicked off the victory with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Whittington also won the 50-yard freestyle, and Ecklund won the 200-yard individual medley.
Women’s Rugby
Vassar (5-1) fell to Bowdoin College, 26-17, October 16 at Vassar Farm. Sophia Florida ’22 and Kira Nolan ’22 scored for the Brewers.
Emily Howell ’22 scored three tries in Vassar’s 62-0 victory over Marist College October 3 at Vassar Farm. Nolan had a pair of tries and kicked five conversions.
Vivika Sheppard ’22 scored a pair of tries as Vassar defeated Fairfield University, 39-14, September 26 at Vassar Farm.
Sheppard scored four tries, and Nolan and Julia Busby ’22 each scored twice in Vassar’s 58-15 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute September 18 in Troy, NY.
Howell scored five tries in Vassar’s 68-0 victory over SUNY Albany September 11 on the Albany campus. Nolan kicked four conversions.
Men’s Rugby
Maritime College blanked the Brewers (3-2), 46-0, October 17 on the Maritime campus in Throgs Neck, NY.
The Brewers dropped a hard-fought battle with Hofstra University, losing 31-19 October 10 on the Hofstra campus in Hempstead, NY. Liam Manion ’22 scored a pair of tries for Vassar.
Vassar used a balanced scoring attack to defeat SUNY New Paltz, 58-10, October 3 at Vassar Farm. Tyler Harber ’24, Merrick Rubinstein ’22, and Hector Contreras ’23 each scored a pair of tries. Olly Skeet-Browning ’24 kicked four conversions.
The Brewers blanked SUNY Oneota, 43-0, September 26 at Vassar Farm. Contreras and Bryce DiNardo ’25 each tallied two tries.
Skeet-Browning scored two tries and kicked five conversions in Vassar’s 62-10 win over a team consisting of players from Bard College and SUNY Maritime College on the Bard campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
Men’s Rowing
Vassar finished eighth in a field of 13 boats in the Men’s 4+ competition at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta in Worcester, MA on October 17. Members of the squad were coxswain Abby Strauss ’25, Colin Kirk ’24, Joshua Hernandez ’23, Lucas Angles ’23, and Brandon Lam ’23.
Vassar’s Collegiate 8 opened the season with a victory over Clarkson University October 2 at the Poughkeepsie Regatta on the Hudson River. Vassar won the 5,000-meter event with a time of 3:10.51.
