Students Join Professional Dance Companies

A person in a sleeveless black outfit performs a dynamic dance pose against a seamless white background. They balance on one foot with the other leg lifted and bent, while their torso leans forward and one arm extends outward in a curved motion. The fingers on one hand are splayed in a deliberate gesture, adding to the sense of motion. The lighting is even and soft, highlighting muscle definition and body alignment.

Three talented Vassar dance students, Yoshi Sanders ’23, Julia Dawson ’24, and Asa Kittay ’28 all earned coveted spots with professional dance companies. Yoshi dances with Whim W’him, a company based in Seattle where dancers not only perform but also create new works for the repertoire. Julia joined Saint Louis Dance Theater as a trainee, and Asa is a trainee with the Philadelphia Ballet. See Yoshi perform here.
