Student-Athletes Shine During Spring Season: Year-End Highlights

Congratulations to the student-athletes who closed out the year with excellent performances. Here are a few of the highlights!

Distance runner Haley Schoenegge ’27 earned the 10th and 11th All-American honors of her collegiate career, highlighting the accomplishments of teams and individuals during Vassar’s spring athletics season. Schoenegge won the 1,500-meter run for the third straight year and finished 8th in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, WI.

At the same event, Jahmilia Dennis ’26 collected a Second Team All-American designation with a ninth-place finish in the triple jump, and Amanda Hanrahan ’29 became the first Vassar competitor to qualify for the NCAA championship in the hammer throw.

Elsewhere, the women’s rowing team’s Varsity Eight won two events at the Northeast Collegiate Club Championship and were silver medalists at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta in Camden, NJ. The men’s Varsity Eight also won the Northeast Collegiate Club Championship and earned a bronze medal at the Dad Vail Regatta.

The men’s and women’s tennis teams both reached the finals of their respective Liberty League Championships.
