Student Arrival + Winter Storm Quade (the Remix)

Dear students,

We’re halfway through our Spring return move-in process! It’s been wonderful to see many of you at Walker either in the drive-through or the walk-in lines. We hope that our new testing process has been easier for all of you. Thank you for all of your feedback!

Because the weather loves us so much, we expect another snowstorm in the Hudson Valley that could bring an additional 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow (sigh)! Our plan, right now, is to move forward with our scheduled move-ins and testing. If you would like to reschedule, please feel free to change your move-in date to Monday, February 8th.

As we did last week, we will allow for a one day grace period for any three-day pre-arrival tests set to expire tomorrow. More specifically, if your three-day pre-arrival test expires tomorrow, we will accept it until Monday, February 8th. You will need a new pre-arrival test if you decide to reschedule your move in for any day after Monday.

We will also be holding an additional half-day of rapid antigen testing on Thursday, February 11th at Walker/AFC from 12 pm - 4 pm to accommodate all of our evening travel arrivals from February 10th. As such, please use Thursday as a reschedule date if needed. Email Dean Inoa if you need to make any changes to your arrival date and time.

It’s been so nice to see so many of you on campus already. Remember to continue to follow our COVID-19 protocols. These first few weeks are critical as we work through multiple rounds of testing to ensure we have a minimum number of campus cases. Thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping our community safe as we work towards this goal.

As always, feel free to be in touch if I can be helpful in any way.

warmly,

Carlos Alamo-Pastrana
