Women’s Track and Field

Haley Schoenegge ’27 won the 1,500-meter run and finished fourth in the 5,000 at the NCAA Division III Championships on May 25 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Schoenegge earned First Team All-American honors in both events.

Jahmilia Dennis ’26 set a school record in the triple jump at the Ramapo Last Chance Meet on May 10 in Mahwah, NJ. Dennis posted a mark of 11.83 meters to win the event.

Schoenegge won two events, setting meet records in both, at the Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 4 in Troy, NY. Schoenegge, who was named Most Outstanding Track Performer, won the 1,500 meters in 4:28.96 and posted a time of 17:02.02 in the 5,000-meter run. Dennis was first in the triple jump with a leap of 11.65 meters. Vassar finished fourth in a field of eight teams.

Vassar defeated eight other teams at the Twilight Invitational on Gordon Field on April 26. Schoenegge broke her own school record in the 1,500 meters, posting a time of 4:25.40. Ava Novak ’24 won the 100-meter dash in 12.48 seconds and was part of the winning 4x100 relay team. Other members of the relay team were Jamie Eu ’26, Dennis, and Traci Francis ’25.

Men’s Volleyball

The Brewers (26-8, 6-1 United Volleyball Conference) lost in three closely contested sets to California Lutheran University in the finals of the NCAA Division III Championships on April 28. Cal Lutheran won by sores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-23. Vaughn Ramsey ’24 finished the match with 11 kills, and All-American Jacob Kim ’24 had eight kills, 17 assists, and 10 digs. The game was played on the campus of Loras College in Dubuque, IA.

Vassar reached the finals of the national tournament with a thrilling five-set victory over New York University on April 26. The Brewers dropped two of the first three sets but won the fourth, 25-19, and edged the Violets, 21-19, in the fifth. Ramsey registered 16 kills and three blocks. Kim had 12 kills, 11 digs, and 23 assists.

Women’s Rugby

Vassar edged Marist College, 22-20, in the finals of the Beast of the East tournament on April 28 in Portsmouth, RI. Ella Maniatis ’27 scored the winning try. Andie Authers ’25, Yasmeen Kassem-Scott ’26, and Zoe Lynch ’25 also scored for the Brewers, and Lynch kicked a conversion. Vassar reached the finals with a victory over Fordham University, 55-0, and two wins over the University of Massachusetts, 31-7 and 24-0.

Men’s Rugby

The Brewers fell to Middlebury College, 17-14, in the semifinals of the Beast of the East tournament on April 28 in Portsmouth, RI. TJ Usher ’27 and Olly Skeet-Browning ’24 scored tries, and Skeet-Browning kicked two conversions. Vassar posted victories over Stony Brook University, 31-0, and the University of Maine, 20-17, to reach the semifinals.

Men’s Track and Field

Sean Miller ’27 won the 1,500-meter run at the Ramapo Last Chance Meet on May 10 in Mahwah, NH. Miller posted a personal best of 4:05.06. Miles Takiguchi ’24 won the 5,000-meter run in 15:05.21.

Vassar finished seventh in an eight-team field at the Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Championship on May 3 and 4 on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Max Bergman ’25 was sixth in the decathlon. The 4x400 relay team of Miller, Darnell Worley ’24, Tim Jacques ’24, and Jose Magana ’25 finished fifth.

Magana set a school record in the 1,500-meter run at the Vassar Invite on April 26 on Gordon Field. Magana posted a time of 3:56.59, eclipsing the previous mark of 3:57.83. Vassar finished first in a field of nine teams at the event. Jacques won the 400 meters in 50.58, and Takiguchi won the 5,000-meter run in 15:04.46.

Women’s Tennis

Vassar lost to Skidmore College, 5-3, in the finals of the Liberty League Championships on May 5 on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Macey Dowd ’25 and Ananya Krishnan ’26 posted victories in singles.

Men’s Tennis

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute defeated Vassar in the finals of the Liberty League Championships on May 5 on the Cornell University campus. The Brewers posted two wins in doubles. Nolan Kubiak ’26 and Henry Zhang ’27 won their match, 8-6, and Pedro Cattaruzzi ’26 and Jay Wong ’24 teamed up for an 8-7 win.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute defeated Vassar, 7-2, on April 27 on the RPI campus in Troy, NY. Eugene Lee ’27 posted Vassar’s lone singles victory.

Baseball

Vassar (12-21, 7-7 Liberty League) finished the season with a pair of losses to Ithaca College on May 3 on the Ithaca, NY campus. The Brewers dropped the first game, 11-1, and lost the second, 9-5. Jack Silvera ’24 capped his Vassar career with two RBIs in the final game.

Michael Lee ’25 and Birch Herring-Jackson ’25 each had three hits in Vassar’s 7-2 win over Bard College on April 28 at Prentiss Field.

The Brewers split a doubleheader at Bard College on April 27, dropping the first game, 21-3, and winning the second, 9-2. Marc Milano ’25 had two hits and four RBIs in the second game.

Mount St. Vincent University scored four runs in the ninth inning, defeating Vassar, 10-9, on April 24 on Gordon Field. Herring-Jackson had three hits and an RBI for the Brewers.

Women’s Lacrosse

Vassar (3-12, 2-8 Liberty League) dropped its final game of the season, 24-3, to nationally ranked William Smith College on April 27 on the William Smith campus in Geneva, NY. Tess Billings ’26 scored twice for the Brewers.

Men’s Lacrosse

The Brewers (9-6, 2-5 Liberty League) finished the season with a 12-5 loss to Clarkson University on April 27 on Weinberg Turf Field. Troy Santise ’24 capped his Vassar career with a goal.

Women’s Rowing

The Varsity 8 finished the season with a victory over Union College on April 28 in Schenectady, NY. Members of the crew were Jaclyn Narleski ’24, Elsie McKendry ’26, Sitota Blomquist ’26, Naomi Meyers ’27, Isabella Zumbolo ’26, Maria Mitchell ’24, Sarah Dumaresq ’24, Posey Whidden ’25, and coxswain Taylor Frazier ’26.

Men’s Rowing

Vassar’s Varsity 8 finished fifth in its heat at the National Invitational Rowing Championships in Worcester, MA. Members of the crew were Alex Roth ’24, Nick Winkler ’24, Gage Karlin ’24, Henry France ’26, Trygve Aarestad ’26, Ben Vinson ’25, Jasper Piermarini ’26, Robert Gee ’26, and coxswain Jean Fassler ’24.

Both Varsity 8 boats and the Varsity 4 posted wins against Union College on April 27 in Schenectady, NY.  

Women’s Golf

Olivia Pocat ’27 finished sixth overall at the Liberty League Championships on April 27 and 28 in Guilderland, NY. Pocat posted rounds of 77 and 78. Vassar finished fourth in a six-team field.
