Women’s Rugby
Vassar defeated Boston University, 43-0, in the finals of the Beast of the East tournament April 23 in Portsmouth, RI. Sophia Bailey ’26 scored three tries. The Brewers reached the finals with wins over the University of Connecticut, 51-0, Providence College, 43-0, and Marist College, 52-12. Andie Authers ’25 scored three tries in the games against Providence and Marist.
Men’s Rugby
Vassar lost to Stonehill College, 29-14, and the University of Vermont, 2-0-15, at the Beast of the East tournament April 22 in Portsmouth, RI. Kiran Mullen ’26 scored a try and kicked a conversion in the loss to Stonehill. Bryce DiNardo ’24 scored two tries in the loss to Vermont.
Men’s Volleyball
Vassar (26-2, 6-0 United Volleyball Conference) lost to North Central College in straight sets in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III tournament on April 28. The game was played on the campus of Stevenson University in Owings Mills, MD. North Central won by scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-20. Adam Gulick ’23 had eight kills and two blocks. First-team All-Americans Andrew Kim ’23 and Gavin van Beveren had seven and six kills, respectively.
The Brewers advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Division III Championships with a 3-1 victory over Southern Virginia on April 22 at Kenyon Hall. Andrew Kim registered 20 kills.
Vassar defeated Baruch College in straight sets in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Championships on April 21 in Kenyon Hall. Vaughn Ramsey ’24 had seven kills and one block.
Women’s Tennis
Skidmore College defeated Vassar (12-6, 7-1 Liberty League), 5-2, in the finals of the Liberty League Championships April 30 at the Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca, NY. Ananya Krishnan ’26 posted Vassar’s lone victory in singles. Sofie Shen ’24 and Erin McCusker ’26 won their doubles match.
The Brewers won their Liberty League semifinal match against St. Lawrence University, 5-0, on April 29. Iris Li ’26 won her singles match and teamed with Macey Dowd ’25 for a win in doubles.
Vassar defeated defending Liberty League champion Skidmore College, 5-4, April 23 on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs, NY. McCusker won her #2 singles match, 6-3, 6-1, and teamed with Shen for an 8-6 win in doubles.
The Brewers defeated Union College, 8-1, April 21 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. Dowd won her #1 singles match and teamed up with Li for an 8-2 win in doubles.
Men’s Tennis
Vassar (12-6, 5-2 Liberty League) fell to Hobart College, 5-4, in the semifinals of the Liberty League Championships April 29 at the Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca, NY. Nolan Kubiak ’26 won his #3 singles match and teamed with Fernando Bauermeister ’26 for a win in doubles.
The Brewers defeated St. Lawrence University, 5-2, in the first round of the league championship tourney. James Balon ’25 won his #5 singles match and teamed with Ethan Mantell ’26 for a win in doubles.
Vassar finished the Liberty League regular season with a 6-3 loss to Skidmore College April 22 in Saratoga Springs, NY. Kubiak won his #2 singles match, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
Hobart College defeated Vassar, 7-2, on April 16 on the Hobart campus in Geneva, NY. Mantell eked out a win in #6 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
Baseball
Vassar (20-18, 7-8 Liberty League) lost a doubleheader to Rochester Institute of Technology in the opening round of the Liberty League playoffs May 6 on the RIT campus. The Brewers lost the first game, 8-4, and fell in the second by a score of 4-3. Ezra Caspi ’23 had a double, two singles, and an RBI in the first game. Reid Lapekas ’24 and Ty Murray ’24 each doubled in the second game.
Vassar finished the regular season with an 8-5 loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute April 30 on the RPI campus ion Troy, NY. Jaden Millstein ’24 singled and doubled.
The Brewers split a doubleheader against RPI April 29 at Prentiss Field. RPI won the first game, 9-5, and Vassar won the second, 11-3. Birch Herring-Jackson ’25 had three hits in the Brewers’ win.
The College of St. Vincent scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to edge Vassar, 8-6, April 26 on Prentiss Field. Millstein had tied the game in the eighth inning with a pinch-hit, two-run triple.
The Brewers swept a doubleheader at Union College in Schenectady NY on April 22. Caspi had three hits in an 11-9 win in the first game. Marc Milano ’25 knocked in the winning run in the 10th inning in a 9-8 victory in the second game.
Lapekas had three hits and knocked in a run in Vassar’s 11-1 win over Union College April 21 on Prentiss Field.
SUNY New Paltz blanked the Brewers, 10-0, on April 19 at Prentiss Field. Lapekas had four hits.
The Brewers dropped a doubleheader against the University of Rochester on April 16 by scores of 4-3 and 5-2. Andrew Kanellis ’23 had a single and a double in the first game. Jensen Bergman ’26 had a single and a triple in the second game.
Bergman and Lapekas each had four hits in Vassar’s 17 -13 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology April 15 on Prentiss Field.
Women’s Lacrosse
Vassar (9-7, 5-5 Liberty League) lost to Ithaca College, 21-13, in the semifinals of the Liberty League Championship tournament May 5 on the Ithaca (NY) campus. Kateri Sanseviro ’23 scored four goals and assisted on three others. Emma Torkelson ’25 had four goals and an assist.
Vassar lost to undefeated William Smith College, 19-8, April 29 on Weinberg Turf Field. Maddy Kretten ’23, Tess Billings ’26, and Reilly Mulcahy ’25 each scored a pair of goals.
Kretten celebrated Senior Day with her 100th career point in Vassar’s 12-11 victory over St. Lawrence University on April 22 on Weinberg Turf Field. Kretten had a goal and an assist. Sanseviro had three goals and an assist.
Billings scored three goals and assisted on another in Vassar’s 1-4 win over Bard College April 19 on the Bard campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
Union College defeated Vassar, 16-14, on April 15 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. Kretten scored five goals.
Men’s Lacrosse
Union College defeated Vassar (7-9, 0-7 Liberty League), 14-9, on April 29 on Gordon Field. Shane O’Hara ’25 scored four goals.
Clarkson University defeated Vassar, 16-10, on April 22 on the Clarkson campus in Potsdam, NY. Riley Olds ’23 scored a pair of goals.
Vassar fell to St. Lawrence University, 12-7, on April 15 on Gordon Field. Olds scored two goals and assisted on another.
Women’s Track and Field
Vassar finished 27th in a 48-team field at the AARTF Championships May 17 and 18 in Selinsgrove, PA. Noni Pattington ’25 finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run. Faye Stevens ’25 was eighth in the heptathlon. Jahmilia Dennis ’26 was sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.39 meters.
Trina Chou ’23 finished second in the 400-meter run on May 11 at the West Point Twilight meet at the U.S. Military Academy. Chou posted a time of 59.51 seconds.
Dennis won the triple jump at the Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 6 on the campus of the University of Rochester (NY). Dennis also finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. The 4x100 relay team of Jamie Eu ’26, Ava Novak ’24, Lola Perez-Fry ’23, and Traci Francis ’25 finished second. Vassar finished fifth in an eight-team field.
Vassar finished fourth in a nine-team field at the Capital District Classix, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on April 28 in Troy, NY. Eu won the long jump with a distance of 5.41 meters. Lily Shimpach ’26 finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:19.26. Sophia Henderson ’25 was third in the 800-meter run in 2:23.74.
Augusta Stockman ’23 finished 61st overall in the 5,000-meter run in the Penn Relays April 27 in Philadelphia. Stockman posted a time of 18:00.61.
Vassar finished fifth in a 21-team field at the Silfen Invitational April 14 and 15 in New London, CT. Stockman won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:43.82. Henderson and Stockman were eighth and ninth respectively in the 800-meter run. Dennis was second in the 100-meter hurdles.
Men’s Track and Field
Tim Buchan ’25 set a Vassar record in the 1,500-meter run at the AARTF Championships May 17 and 18 in Selinsgrove, PA. Buchan posted a time of 3:547.50
Vassar finished seventh in an eight-team field at the Liberty League Track and Field Championships May 6 at the University of Rochester (NY). Max Bergman ’25 finished fifth in the decathlon.
Vassar finished sixth in a 10-team field at the Capital District Classic hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on April 29 in Troy, NY. Jae Young Seo ’25 was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles, posting as time of 17.99. Seo, Darnell Worley ’24, Tucker Quinlan ’23 and Jacob Sellitti ’26 finished third in the 4x100 relay. Buchan was fifth in the 800-meter run in 1:59.15.
The Brewers finished 12th in a 20-team field at the Silfen Invitation on April 14 and 15 in New London, CT. Worley was ninth in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.70. Jose Magana ’25 was 11th in the 800-meter run.
Women’s Rowing
Vassar’s Varsity Eight finished fourth in the Petit Final of the New York State Rowing Championships on May 6 in Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, NY. Members of the crew were Abigail Straus ’25, Elsie McKendry ’26, Sarah Dumaresq ’24, Posey Whidden ’25, Anna Bishop ’25, Bridgette Nally ’26, Isabella Zumbolo ’26, and Jaclyn Narleski ’24.
Vassar’s Varsity Four defeated a crew from Union College on April 15.
Men’s Rowing
The Varsity Eight finished fourth overall at the New York State Rowing Championships May 6 on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs NY. Members of the crew were Coxswain Ellie Walsh ’25, Robert Gee ’26, Trygve Aarestad ’26, Jakob Huddleston ’23, Lucas Angles ’23, Ben Vinson ’25, T. Charles Martin ’26, Will Clendenning ’23, and Alex Roth ’24.
Vassar’s Varsity Eight finished third in a five-boat race at the Skidmore Sprints April 22 in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Vassar’s 2nd Varsity 8 defeated Union’s 2nd Eight on April 15.
Women’s Golf
Sufana Noorwez ’24 earned All Liberty League Honorable Mention honors with a 78 at the league championship tourney April 30 in Rexford, NY. Noorwez posted an 84 in the opening round and finished 12th overall.
New York University defeated Vassar, 302-372, on April 25 at Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie. Noorwez finished fourth overall with an 80.
