Latin Fusion Restaurant Opens Adjacent to Vassar College Campus

La Vickyna, a new Latin Fusion restaurant, has opened adjacent to the Vassar campus. Owned by Victoria McDermott, manager of El Guacamole, a Mexican restaurant in Hyde Park, La Vickyna offers an extensive menu and extended hours for late-night fare.

McDermott said business has been brisk since the restaurant’s opening in early December. “People seem to be happy with the food and how the restaurant looks,” she said. “Not a lot of places in the neighborhood are open late, so it has become a popular place for [Vassar] students.”

In addition to traditional Latin fare and fusion dishes such as Mexican sushi rolls, La Vickyna’s menu also offers traditional breakfasts, panini wraps, and a wide variety of salads for lunch, McDermott said.

Wesley Dixon, Deputy to the President and Secretary of Vassar’s Board of Trustees, welcomed the new business to the neighborhood. “Vassar is excited to support a local entrepreneur open a new business in Arlington,” Dixon said. “Our hope is that La Vickyna will contribute positively to the community and to the experience of those who live on or near Vassar's campus.”

La Vickyna is located at 60 Raymond Avenue, adjacent to the Vassar College Store. It offers pickup and delivery service. For more information, visit the website at https://lavickynapk.com/.
