Women’s Basketball
Vassar (22-1, 16-0 Liberty League) ran its winning streak to 21 games with a 53-44 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on February 10 in the Athletics and Fitness Center. Julia Harvey ’25 led all scorers with 15 points. Sierra McDermed ’26 and Tova Gelb ’25 each scored 14. The Brewers are ranked 22nd in the country in the latest NCAA Division III Coaches’ Poll.
The Brewers broke open a tight game in the third quarter and went on to defeat Rochester Institute of Technology, 76-51, on February 9 in the Athletics and Fitness Center. RIT scored nine straight points to close Vassar’s lead to 41-37, but Gelb’s three-pointer ignited the Brewers on a 9-0 run. Harvey finished with 24 points, and McDermed added 23.
McDermed and Gelb combined for 42 points in Vassar’s 60-53 win over Union College on February 3 at the Athletics and Fitness Center. McDermed scored 26 points, converting on 9 of 19 shots from the field. Gelb scored 16.
Sam Lederman ’26 scored a career-high 10 points in Vassar’s 77-35 victory over Bard College February 2 at the Athletics and Fitness Center.
Gelb scored a career-high 26 points in Vassar’s 81-59 victory over St. Lawrence University January 27 on the St. Lawrence campus in Canton, NY. McDermed finished with 15 points, and Harvey added 13.
Vassar overcame a sluggish start and went on to defeat Clarkson University, 67-48, on January 26 on the Clarkson campus in Potsdam, NY. The Brewers led at halftime 28-27 but outscored the Golden Knights by a 39-21 margin in the final two quarters. Gelb led all scorers with 18 points.
Fourteen players scored at least two points in Vassar’s 70-35 victory over Bard College on January 20 on Bard’s Annandale-on-Hudson campus. Naiya Kurnik ’26 led all scorers with 15 points.
McDermed and Harvey combined for 48 points in Vassar’s 70-60 victory over Union College on January 19 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. McDermed connected on five of eight three-point shots and finished with a game-high 26 points. Harvey added 22.
Harvey and Gelb combined for 37 points as Vassar cruised to a 71-52 win over Rochester Institute of Technology on January 13 on the RIT campus.
Four players scored in double figures in Vassar’s 59-43 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on January 12 on the RPI campus in Troy, NY. Gelb and Harvey each finished with 12 points, and Bella Tawney ’26 and Kurnik each scored 11.
Gelb and McDermed combined for 37 points in Vassar’s 61-58 victory over Skidmore College January 9 on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs.
Vassar overcame a sluggish start and defeated Clarkson University, 70-42, on January 6 in the Athletics and Fitness Center. Harvey and Caroline Siekman ’26 each finished with 16 points.
Harvey scored 20 points in Vassar’s 68-51 victory over St. Lawrence University on January 5 at the Athletics and Fitness Center.
Harvey scored 20 points, propelling Vassar to a 63-40 victory over Rutgers-Newark, on December 30 on the Newark campus.
Men’s Basketball
Luke Adams ’25 and Avery Lee ’27 each sank free throws in the final minute to lift Vassar to a 63-61 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology February 9 at the Athletics and Fitness Center. Nathan Denham ’26 led all scorers with 13 points.
Vassar fell to Liberty League leader Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 63-58, on February 10 at the Athletics and Fitness Center. Shea Fitzgerald ’27 led all Vassar scorers with 23 points.
Lee came off the bench to score 16 points, leading Vassar to a 76-72 win over Union College February 3 at the Athletics and Fitness Center.
The Brewers used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Bard College, 80-67, on February 2 at the Athletics and Fitness Center. Fitzgerald had a game-high 19 points. Lee scored 15, and Adams and Kreekor Karageuzian ’27 each added 10.
The Brewers connected on just 15 of 55 shots in a 54-37 loss to St. Lawrence University on January 27 in Canton, NY. JP Miranda ’26 scored 10 points.
Vassar staged a second-half comeback but fell in overtime, 74-73, to Clarkson University on January 26 on the Clarkson campus in Potsdam, NY. Denham led all Brewer scorers with 16 points.
Bard College defeated the Brewers, 81-71, on January 20 on the Bard campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. Lee scored 26 points.
Union College used a second-half surge to defeat Vassar, 86-76, on January 19 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. Lee and Miranda each finished with 22 points for the Brewers.

Skidmore College posted an 82-71 victory over Vassar on January 9 on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs. Fitzgerald scored 19 points.

Fitzgerald scored a career-high 34 points in Vassar’s 66-51 win over St. Lawrence University on January 5 in the Athletics and Fitness Center. Vassar trailed at halftime, 26-24, but outscored the Saints by a 42-25 margin in the second half.
Vassar dropped a pair of contests December 29 and 30 at the Hat City Classic on the campus of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT. The Brewers fell to the College of New Jersey, 90-61, on December 29 and lost to Western Connecticut State the following night by a score of 80-58. Lee scored 12 points in the loss to TCNJ. Logan Scott ’24 had a game-high 13 points in the loss to Western Connecticut.
Men’s Volleyball
Billy Fan ’25 registered 13 kills in sixth-ranked Vassar’s 3-1 win over Kean State University on February 10 in Kenyon Hall.
Vassar split a pair of matches at the Hall of Fame Morgan Classic February 2 and 3 on the campus of Springfield College. The Brewers fell to seventh-ranked Springfield in five sets but blacked Endicott College, 3-0. The Brewers rallied from a two-set deficit to even the match, but Springfield won the final set, 15-11. Jacob Kim ’24 had 11 kills in the loss to Springfield. He recorded 11 kills, 17 assists, 3 service aces, and 4 digs in the win over Endicott.
Vassar blanked Lancaster Bible College and Messiah University in matches on January 27 on the Messiah campus in Mechanicsburg, PA. Kim registered 10 kills in the win over Lancaster Bible. Andrew Guaragno ’24 had 11 in the victory over Messiah.
Vassar posted straight-set victories over SUNY Potsdam and Rivier University on January 20 in Kenyon Hall. Eli Lee ’26 had 8 kills in the win over Potsdam. Kim had 6 kills, 21 assists, 3 blocks, and 6 digs in the victory over Rivier.
The Brewers opened the season winning two of three matches on the West Coast. Vassar blanked Adrian College and the University of the University of California at Santa Cruz but fell to California Lutheran University in four sets. All three matches were played on the Cal Lutheran campus in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
Vassar won the VC Sprint Invitational on February 3 at Kresge Pool. Sarah Quintana ’24 celebrated Senior Day with wins in the 50-yard backstroke and the 100-yard individual medley, and she finished second in the 400-yard individual medley. Alejandra Robins ’24 won the 100-yard butterfly, finished second in the 100-yard freestyle and was third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Anna Little ’27 won three events in Vassar’s 187-95 win over Union College on January 27 on the Union campus in Schenectady, NY. Little finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard individual medley.
Vivien Li ’27 won three events in Vassar’s 176-100 victory over Pace University on January 19 in Kresge Pool. Li finished first in the 200-yard butterfly, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard individual medley.
Addie Wiener ’26 won a pair of events in Vassar’s 206-78 victory over Mount Holyoke on January 15 in South Hadley, MA. Wiener finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Ricky Kurosawa ’26 led the Brewers to a second-place finish at the VC Sprint Invitational on February 3 at Kresge Pool. Kurosawa won the 50-yard breaststroke and the 10-yard breaststroke.
Union College defeated Vassar, 168-100, on January 27 in the Union pool in Schenectady, NY. Hayden Ehrenfeld ’25 won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events.
Kurosawa and Lucas Jauregui ’27 each won three events in the Brewers’ 165-107 win over Pace University on January 19 in Kresge Pool. Kurosawa took the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard individual medley. Jauregui won the 100-yard backstroke, the 100-yard freestyle, and the 100-yard butterfly.
Trinity College defeated Vassar, 183-100, on January 15 on the campus of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Kurosawa won the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke and finished second in the 200-yard individual medley.
Women’s Squash
Vassar defeated Bard College, 5-3, but lost to Mount Holyoke College and Denison University on February 10 on the campus of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Anna Lee ’24 defeated her Bard opponent, 11-3, 11-2, 11-3.
Vassar (7-9) finished the regular season by winning two of three matches on the campus of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Vassar defeated Wellesley College, 6-3, and Smith College, 7-2, but fell to Mount Holyoke, 6-3. Lee and Sehar Dey-Kohli ’24 each won all of all three of their matches.
Vassar split a pair of matches on January 27 on the Haverford (PA) College campus. The Brewers defeated Bucknell University, 7-1, but lost to Haverford, 9-0. Lee won her match at #1 Against Bucknell by scores of 11-3, 11-8, and 11-3.
William Smith College blanked the Brewers, 8-0, on January 20 in Kenyon Hall. Playing at #1, Lee fell to her Heron opponent by scores of 4-11, 4-11, and 2-11.
Men’s Squash
Vassar defeated Bard College, 8-1, but lost to Haverford College and St. Lawrence University on February 10 on the St. Lawrence campus in Canton, NY. Jay Vashisht ’27 posted victories in the Bard and Haverford matches.
Vassar defeated Bucknell University, 8-1, but lost to Haverford College, 7-2, on January 27 on the Haverford, PA campus. Vashisht won his #1 match against Bucknell.
Kyle Benson ’26 and Patrick Looby ’25 posted wins in Vassar’s 7-2 loss to Hobart College January 20 in Kenyon Hall.
Women’s Fencing
Wagner College defeated Vassar, 16-11, on February 4 on the Wagner campus in Staten Island, NY. Olivia Barnes ’25 won all three matches in epee, and Hunter Grogan ’24 and Nicole Ezell ’25 each won a pair of bouts in foil.
Yale University swept all 27 matches against Vassar on January 27 on the Yale campus in New Haven CT.
Vassar defeated all seven opponents at the Matt Lampell Invitational on January 21 in Walker Fieldhouse. The Brewers defeated Hunter College, 20-7, Rochester Institute of Technology, 24-3, the U.S. Military Academy, 22-5, Yeshiva University, 27-0, Bryn Mawr College, 19-8, Swarthmore College, 25-2, and City College of New York, 27-0. The epee squad of Barnes, Katrina Zeng ’27, Naomi Hirsch ’25, and Aanya Mukherjee ’26 finished with a combined record of 57-6.
Men’s Fencing
Wagner College edged Vassar, 15-12, on February 4 on the Wagner campus in Staten Island, NY. Brady Traugot ’25 and Isaiah Kim ’26 posted 3-0 marks in foil, and Oliver Berger ’26 won all three bouts in sabre.
Vassar fell to Yale University, 19-8, on January 27 in New Haven, CT. Eli Weise ’25 scored a pair of victories in epee competition. Benjamin Lee ’24 was 3-0 in foil.
The Brewers defeated five of six opponents on January 21 at the Matt Lampell Invitational at Walker Field House. The foil squad of Isaiah Kim ’26, Frank Ryan ’24, Ulysses Bergel ’26, and Liam Inchoco ’24 led the way with a 47-7 record. Vassar defeated Hunter College, 19-8, Rochester Institute of Technology, 18-9, Binghamton University, 20-7, Swarthmore College, 21-6, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 19-8. The Brewers lost to the U.S. Military Academy, 14-13.
Women’s Track and Field
Haley Schoenegge ’27 was third overall—and the top Division III finisher—in the 3,000-meter run at the Big Apple Invitational on February 11 in Staten Island, NY. Nora Jensen ’24 finished third in the 60-meter hurdles.
Vassar finished fourth in an 18-team field at the Fast Trax Invite on February 3 on the campus of Utica (NY) College. Schoenegge was the top Division III finisher in the mile run, finishing second overall with a time of 5:15.48. Lily Shimpach ’26 was second in the 5,000-meter run, and Jensen finished third in the 60-meter hurdles.
Men’s Track and Field
Jae Young Seo ’25 finished third in the 60-meter hurdles at the Big Apple Invitational on February 11 in Staten Island, NY.
The Brewers finished third in a 19-team field at the Fast Trax Invite on February 3 on the campus of Utica (NY) College. Aidan Mayer ’24 won the 5,000-meter run in 15:25.66. Jose Magana ’25 was third in the mile run with a time of 4:21.65.
