Rags, Tunes, Sonorities, Dialogues: Music for Two Pianos

Location:

Skinner Hall of Music

Milica Jelača Jovanović and Marija Ilić explore a variety of repertoire for the two-piano ensemble. The program starts with an intensely romantic suite by Amy Beach, and ends with a tongue-in-cheek, humorous two-piano version of William Bolcom’s rags from The Garden of Eden suite. In the center of the program is J. S. Bach’s only two-keyboard concerto, written for solo keyboards without orchestra accompaniment; and, with the pianist Thomas Sauer, Natasha Bogojević’s piece for piano, harpsichord, and prepared piano.

This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Vassar Music Department. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Office of Campus Activities at (845) 437-5370.
