Le Tour de Preserve: Guided Bike Ride Tour to the Vassar Preserve
Students and Vassar Faculty and staff are invited for a bike tour starting on campus and ending at the Research Station at The Vassar Preserve. Along the way, attendees will learn from several members of the Environmental Cooperative and the Vassar Preserve about stewardship, native plant propagation, and best practices to biking in and around the Preserve trails. The tour will culminate in refreshments and resources from the Vassar Libraries about finding and discovering information about nature. This includes field guides, art books, and children’s books.
Bring your own gravel-friendly bike and join us for a guided ride through the Vassar Preserve to learn about trails, invasive species, beavers, barns, field guides, and children's books about Nature! Total mileage is around 3.4 miles, out and back. The route is:
- Start at Skinner Hall
- Stop 1: The Vassar Barns
- Stop 2: Goats!
- Stop 3: Beaver Pond
- Final Stop: Collins Research Station
The guided ride ends at the Research Station, so attendees will navigate back to campus at their own pace. For questions, please email iryan@vassar.edu.
