Auditioning for Spring 2026 Drama Department Productions

Location:

Powerhouse Theater

Auditioning for The Experimental Theater of Vassar College/Drama Department Spring 2026 productions:

Each season, the Drama Department produces six to eight productions, allowing for opportunities in Acting, Directing, Stage Management, Design (Costume, Set, Lights, Sound), and Dramaturgy. There are also opportunities in costume construction, set and prop building, light hanging, and rigging. Collectively, we refer to all these roles as Production Assignments. All assignments are done for credit under various course numbers, including DRA 200, DRA 390, and DRA 391

Auditions are on Wednesday, January 21, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Powerhouse Theatre.

Roles that are being cast and sign-up sheets are listed here.

Participation in production usually requires students to have taken (or concurrently enrolled in) DRA 102 and DRA 103. An exception to the prerequisites exists for students who are non-majors and want to participate in a Drama Department production on a single occasion. You do not need to be a declared Drama Major to participate in departmental productions. Callback auditions will be held on Thursday, January 22. If you plan to audition, you may preregister for Drama 200. You can drop it later if need be. Preregistering will ensure that you have the space in your schedule for Drama 200 without giving yourself an overload.
