“Why We Are”

Apr. 26, 2024, 7:00 p.m.
Location:

Frances Daly Fergusson Dance Theater in Kenyon Hall

In “Why We Are,” we move to understand ourselves and traverse the complex terrains of identity, vulnerability, and societal constructs. Through the debut of four new dance pieces by four Vassar senior choreographers, powerful movement blurs the lines between traditional forms of dance, raw expression, and expectations of the performance space. We deconstruct who and why we are, navigating concepts of self and our perceptions of the world. Our collaborative processes of creation are means to share our lived experiences and intimate reflections.

Presented by Camryn Spero, Courtney Spero, David Shively-Ertas, and Yoshi Sanders through DANC-378.

Tickets can be reserved online. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations may contact the Office of Campus Activities at (845) 437-5370.
