Tribute to Ukrainian Resilience

Feb. 22, 2024, 6:00 p.m.
Location:

Peace Garden/Old Bookstore

Join a communal reflection on the 2 years since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine and the 10 years since the start of the Russian occupation of Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk. Events include a vigil and the opening of a photo exhibition.

Vigil: Vassar Alliance for Ukraine, in collaboration with the Office of International Services and Office of Religious & Spiritual Life & Contemplative Practices, invites everyone to a vigil to commemorate the victims of Russian violence and celebrate Ukrainian resilience. Join us to hear the Ukrainian voices at Vassar and in the greater Hudson Valley. The vigil will happen from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Peace Garden (near the Aula).

UPDATE Photo Exhibition and Discussion: The discussion with war photographer Iva Sidash will be postponed until February 28, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Old Bookstore. At 7:00 p.m., the official opening of the photo exhibition Unbreakable: The Women Photographing Two Years of Ukrainian Resilience, highlighting the work of female photographers who document Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine, will take place in the Old Bookstore.
