College Organist Gail Archer presents selections from a recently published collection of new organ music by contemporary Bulgarian composers. While there are just 24 pipe organs in Bulgaria, there is great interest in the instrument and its sonic possibilities. The music is influenced by the irregular rhythms of the folk traditions and makes use of non-Western scales.
