Women’s Track and Field

Jahmilia Dennis ’26

Haley Schoenegge ’27 won her second consecutive national title in the 1,500-meter run, and teammate Jahmilia Dennis ’26 earned Second Team All-American honors in the triple jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The events took place on May 24 in Geneva, OH. Schoenegge also earned First Team All-American honors in the 5,000-meter run, finishing fifth overall. The performances enabled Vassar to finish 17th in the team competition, the College’s highest mark at the NCAA Championships in the school’s history. Schoenegge and Dennis were named Outstanding Track Performer and Outstanding Field Performer, respectively, at the Liberty League Championships on May 4. Schoenegge won the 1,500- and 5,000-meter runs and Dennis won the triple jump.

Women’s Tennis

Iris Li ’26

Iris Li ’26 won the clinching singles match in Vassar’s 4-1 victory over defending champion Skidmore College at the Liberty League Championships on May 4 in Ithaca, NY. The victory was Vassar’s ninth league title and first since 2010. Li outlasted Skidmore’s Grace Truong, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Maddie Kirby ’ 27 scored the clinching singles win against Hunter College in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament on May 9 in Manchester, CT. Vassar fell to Amherst College in the second round.

Men’s Volleyball

Vassar defeated Hobart College, 3-0, in the semifinals of the United Volleyball Conference Championships on April 11 at New York University. Walter Birnbaum ’27 paced the Brewers with 15 kills, five blocks, and four digs. The Brewers lost to Nazareth University, 3-2, in the UVC finals and fell to California Lutheran University, 3-1, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
