Students, faculty, and administrators who took part in the 2022 Undergraduate Research Summer Institute (URSI) celebrated their research projects at URSI’s annual Symposium.

Brenda Feigen ’66, a fierce advocate for women’s rights for more than 50 years, accepted the Spirit of Vassar Award from the Alumnae/i Association of Vassar College (AAVC).

Vassar students in Hawaii developed resources to help immigrants there acclimate themselves to their new communities. Meanwhile, a student from Kenya secured funding for new water systems for schools in a Kenyan village. Both initiatives were funded through the 100 Projects for Peace program.

President Elizabeth H. Bradley and Peter Mathieson, Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), have laid the groundwork for mutually beneficial collaboration between the two institutions—the third such global partnership Bradley has established.

The fourth Brewer Fund Challenge, which kicks of October 6, will continue to fund equipment and programs that benefit all Vassar student-athletes.

Vassar has received a grant to develop more robust partnerships with community colleges that take part in the Exploring Transfer program and to engage more four-year liberal arts colleges in developing such programs of their own.

Sherrilyn Ifill ’84, former President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF), received the 2022 Thurgood Marshall Award, bestowed by the Civil Rights and Social Justice section of the American Bar Association (ABA), this August. In her acceptance speech, she implored legal colleagues to take action to stave off a crisis in American democracy.
