The department regularly presents concerts, master classes, and workshops by visiting artists and ensembles as well as by members of the faculty. All events are free and open to the college community, and most are also open to the public.
MODfest takes to the airwaves as WVKR spotlights original radio art by Vassar’s electronic music students. This special broadcast showcases the craft and sonic imagination of Vassar’s emerging artists.

This interactive event offers audiences a unique opportunity to engage directly with the compositional process, from first sparks to finished scores, featuring live performances and open discussion in a collaborative workshop.

Belle Skinner Hall of Music
Home to the Music Department, Skinner houses the Mary Anna Fox Martel Recital Hall, a small chamber concert hall, the music library (with nearly 75,000 books, scores, and sound and visual recordings), an electronic music studio, practice rooms & faculty studios, and historic and modern instrument collections.
