The Department of Music offers an extensive program encompassing opportunities for majors and non-majors to explore performance, composition, history, and theory in depth.

Upcoming Concerts & Events

The department regularly presents concerts, master classes, and workshops by visiting artists and ensembles as well as by members of the faculty. All events are free and open to the college community, and most are also open to the public.

Faculty member Frank Cassara will be joined by the NYC-based ensemble "Percussia" to perform his new work "Broadway Boogie Woogie", a NYSCA grant winner, based on the the painting by Piet Mondrian. Hailing from the vibrant hub of Queens, New York, Percussia masterfully blends classical precision, modern innovation, global traditions, and popular flair into a cohesive and thrilling sound experience.

This event is free and open to the public.

Belle Skinner Hall of Music

Home to the Music Department, Skinner houses the Mary Anna Fox Martel Recital Hall, a small chamber concert hall, the music library (with nearly 75,000 books, scores, and sound and visual recordings), an electronic music studio, practice rooms & faculty studios, and historic and modern instrument collections.
