“I was attracted to the Edinburgh Vassar Scholars program for the opportunity to explore my interests in sustainability and, more generally, in academic research in a new environment. My time at Vassar has allowed me to cultivate these interests but visiting a new university and country provided me with a fresh perspective that I would not have been able to acquire otherwise. Getting to work at a large and well-recognized institution like the University of Edinburgh over the summer was an incredible experience. Researching alongside faculty who are deeply engaged with the Scottish government and local climate NGOs allowed me to gain a deeper insight into how sustainability planning works in a context that was entirely new to me.”
