Study in Paris

Through the Vassar-Wesleyan Program in Paris (VWPP), students can take courses in French across disciplines including literature, art history, sociology, psychology, history, film, economics, earth science, mathematics, and linguistics. The program partners with four Parisian universities and offers additional courses for program students.

Courses taken in French generally count toward the FFS major or correlate and may also count toward another major (check with your advisor).

Preparing for Study Abroad

Students should plan to take a French course every semester and complete at least one course above 212 before studying abroad. Students who begin French at Vassar in the 105–106 sequence are encouraged to take a summer course after their first or second year before studying abroad in their third year. Consult your advisor to determine the best path.

Credits

Students may earn up to six units toward the FFS major while studying abroad for a full year, or four units toward a correlate.
