The SUNY New Paltz-Vassar MBA Program

Vassar and SUNY New Paltz partnered to offer an expedited “4+1” MBA program to qualified Vassar students. This new program will enable students to complete their B.A. degree at Vassar and then complete SUNY New Paltz’s MBA in just one calendar year.

SUNY New Paltz’s MBA is an in-person program that offers some opportunities for hybrid and online learning to provide students with flexibility. Students can pursue a general MBA, or choose to concentrate their studies in either Healthcare Management or Business Analytics.

The program also has a social entrepreneurship element and taps into the Hudson Valley Venture Hub, a network for entrepreneurs and investors in the region. This is a unique opportunity for our institutions, the region, and for students interested in a career in business.

Requirements and Recommendations

To be eligible for the program, Vassar students must complete one of the following courses with a grade of B or better to have six graduate credits waived. If you haven’t taken one of the listed courses, you must enroll in and complete one.

  • MATH 240 Introduction to Statistics
  • MATH 242 Applied Statistical Modeling
  • ECON 203 Introduction to Econometrics
  • PSYC 200 Statistics and Experimental Design

Additionally, if you haven't taken “ECON 102 Introduction to Economics” and want to be eligible for the program, you will need to enroll in it and earn a B or better. In doing so, SUNY New Paltz will waive their “Statistics, Analysis and Decision Theory” and “Business Economics for Managers” classes, allowing Vassar students to complete the MBA in one year.
