Pre-Midterms Guest Speaker Series with Professor Samuel Issacharoff
Come listen to the Department of Political Science’s upcoming guest speaker series, with a talk and Q&A from Professor Samuel Issacharoff! Professor Issacharoff’s talk will be on the role of the courts in the upcoming midterms.
Professor Issacharoff will be speaking in Taylor Hall 102 on October 7 from 6:00–7:15 p.m.
Professor Samuel Issacharoff is the Reiss Professor of Constitutional Law at NYU School of Law. He has also held chaired positions at the University of Texas and Columbia Law School. He is one of the pioneers of scholarly examination of the law of democracy, for which he is one of the founding authors. He is also the author of scores of publications in law reviews and other academic journals, as well as Fragile Democracies and Democracy Unmoored. In addition to his scholarship, Professor Issacharoff is an active litigator of public and private law matters, having argued before the Supreme Court and almost every federal appellate court. He was senior legal counsel to the Obama for America campaign in 2008 and 2012. Professor Issacharoff is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Council of the American Law Institute.
