Memorial donations are a caring and thoughtful way to express sympathy for the loss of a loved one or friendwhile also positively impacting the lives of Vassar students both today and in the future.

Tribute Gifts are often given to mark birthdays, anniversaries or other milestones. Making a contribution to Vassar in honor of a friend, classmate or family member is a long-lasting way to recognize your special relationship while also providing important support to our College.

In Memory of and In Honor of Gifts

Any gift to Vassar can be made in an individual’s honor or memory by noting your intentions in the tribute fields when making your gift. (The Tribute information section is found on the page following the payment information page).

When you give a memorial or honorary gift, you will receive a tax-deduction receipt. For gifts over $100, Vassar will also notify the honoree or the family of the memorialized person of your generous donation.

Education is the gift that lasts a lifetime, and a memorial scholarship provides a meaningful way for families and friends to honor their special loved one while carrying their legacy forward to future generations of students. Campus Benches and Trees

Remember your friend or loved one by dedicating a bench or tree in their memory or honor. Your gift will help maintain Vassar’s splendid landscape by creating tranquil and beautiful places for students and visitors to enjoy our campus. These long-lasting gifts include a plaque with a personalized inscription honoring or memorializing the individual.

The location is determined by the campus master plan and selection is limited. Donors may choose from existing trees or benches that have not yet been dedicated, and we will do our best to accommodate requests for locations that hold significant meaning.

Campus benches may be named with a $7,500 gift and trees may be dedicated with a gift of $3,500.
