Gwen J. Broude Professor of Cognitive Science
Gwen Broude earned her BA in anthropology from Hunter College and her MA and PhD in social anthropology from Harvard University. She has been at Vassar College since 1976, teaching courses in developmental psychology, evolutionary theory, and cognitive science on a regular basis. Her research interests include the application of evolutionary theory to human mind and behavior. She is currently working on a book that explores the implications of human evolutionary history for life in contemporary society. Her other interests include cross-cultural psychology and cognitive science.
