The Egyptian Revolution: One Year Later

Steven Cook ’90, a leading expert on Middle East policy at the Council on Foreign Relations, was in Tahrir Square at the start of the revolution in January 2011. One year after Egyptians ousted President Hosni Mubarak, Cook and his former professor Glen Johnson discuss the revolution’s implications for foreign policy in the region.

Revolutions of the Imagination

Tarik Ahmed Elseewi, an Andrew Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Television Studies at Vassar, examines how the proliferation of social and non-state-controlled media has led to profound transformations in Arab personal identity and has inspired revolutions from Tunisia to Libya.

Boxing at Vassar

Novelist and Professor Emeritus of English Frank Bergon writes about the class that started as an academic exploration of the social history of boxing but has become one of the most popular fitness programs on campus.
