"Talking Taxes"...VQ Introduces Online Chats

By Samantha Soper '91

With this issue, the Vassar Quarterly is pleased to introduce another way for the Vassar community to exchange ideas and interact with each other. Alumnae/i are invited to join an online Web-based discussion inspired by the feature article Economic Lessons. Philip Jefferson '83 poses the question, "Do tax cuts stimulate job creation?"

Jefferson is an associate professor of economics at Swarthmore College, visiting senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and a Vassar College trustee. He will host this chat on January 20, 2004, from 8 to 9 p.m. (EST). Even if you've never chatted online before, please think about joining your fellow alumnae/i to discuss this hot topic. We hope to make this a regular event with each issue of the magazine. [Download the transcript of the chat.]
