Securing the Homefront: Lurita Alexis Doan '79 Manages Hypergrowth at Her High-Technology Company

Concerns about national security and fears of terrorism have permeated America’s psyche. Lurita Alexis Doan ’79, through her high-technology company, is working to protect the nation. New Technology Management, Inc. (NTMI), the firm she founded 12 years ago, specializes in developing and integrating software applications you might expect to see in a James Bond flick.

American Sign Language: Roots and History

The story may be apocryphal, but even if its only value is as metaphor, it works beautifully. In a poor section of Paris in 1755 — a dark and stormy night works well — the Abbe Charles Michel de l’Epee was making his rounds, looking for lost souls in need of the Church. Wet and cold, he noticed a slightly open door with light coming from within.

Revealing Arlington

The curtain rises on a new beginning as Vassar partners with Poughkeepsie’s property owners, business people, and residents to revitalize the Arlington area.
