Hall to the Chief
When Washington DC’s new mayor, Vince Gray, wanted an accomplished, high-level leader to head up his office, he named alumna Gerri Mason Hall ’81 his chief of staff. She’ll play an integral role in executing Gray’s “One City” vision, providing “leadership, strategic direction and policy guidance,” according to the Executive Office of the Mayor.
It’s not the first time the native Washingtonian has been tapped for public service appointments. She previously served in DC’s Office of Personnel Management as counsel to the deputy director, and in the Clinton administration as acting head of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
In addition to public service, Hall is also no stranger to the upper ranks of corporate America. She was with Sodexo since 2006, serving as senior vice president, Human Resources, Corporate Services Division since 2007. Prior to Sodexo, Hall was vice president, Business Diversity and Strategic Initiatives for Amtrak. She is an active member of the Washington DC Vassar Club. – PB
