Powerhouse Theater Partner Celebrates Silver Anniversary

New York Stage and Film (SAF), Vassar’s partner in the Powerhouse summer theater program, celebrated its 25th season in December at its Winter Gala benefit at the Plaza Hotel. Proceeds from the event will benefit Vassar’s Powerhouse Theater Program.

During the event, the non-profit organization, which assists both emerging and established artists in the development of new works for theater and film, honored actor Julianna Margulies and producer Marc Platt—for their significant contributions to theater, film, television and the cultural life of New York City.

Marc PlattMargulies, an award-winning actress and star of the hit NBC series The Good Wife, has also been featured on E.R. and The Sopranos, as well as in an array of films and Broadway shows. She was seen as the lead in the Off-Broadway show Intrigue With Faye, which she originated at Powerhouse in 1999.

Platt, a successful producer of theater, film, and television, has been involved with a number of extremely successful projects, including the smash musical Wicked and the Oscar-nominated Rachel Getting Married.
