SEXUAL CITIZENS: A Landmark Study of Sex, Power, and Assault on Campus: A Panel Discussion with Jennifer Hirsch and Shamus Khan

Join Jennifer Hirsch, Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, and Shamus Khan, Professor of Sociology and American Studies at Princeton University, for a panel conversation on their book, Sexual Citizens: A Landmark Study of Sex, Power and Assault on Campus, published by WW Norton.

That work was realized as part of Columbia’s Sexual Health Initiative to Foster Transformation, or SHIFT, co-directed by Jennifer and clinical psychologist Claude Ann Mellins, which was profiled by Jia Tolentino in the New Yorker in February of 2018. A review in Science described Sexual Citizens as “profoundly eye-opening”, and the book was listed as one of NPR’s best books of 2020.

All members of the Vassar community are invited to this special event. RSVP here for a link to the webinar. Note: the first 100 students to RSVP will get a free copy of the book, as well as a grab-and-go meal.
