Online pre-registration for classes takes place during the summer. You will meet with an advisor and finalize your class schedule during New Student Orientation in late August.

Available June 24–July 19.

Student Employment

Find a Job

  • Online job registration is available through the Student Employment Jobs Site (JobX) available in August.


  • The W-4 Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate is located in your employee account in Workday, available after you are officially hired. Student Guide to Workday
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form
    DO NOT sign the form until you arrive on campus and register with our office. We must see you sign the form in person. This form can only be completed after you have been offered a job on campus and must be completed prior to being hired. The I-9 form and instructions are available for download on the Student Financial Services website. You should only need to complete the I-9 form once while working at Vassar.

Placement Tests

In many areas of study, students’ levels of preparation vary considerably. During Orientation, you will have an opportunity to confer with faculty in the foreign language departments and math and science departments to determine which courses are most appropriate for you.

Two departments offer online placement tests that you can take before you arrive:

Interest Forms

Religious and Spiritual Life

Whether you consider yourself religious, spiritual, both, or neither, please fill out the Religious Interest Form so we can better serve Vassar’s diverse student community. The Office of Religious & Spiritual Life & Contemplative Practices will share your contact information only with groups that you indicate you would like to contact you.

Music Ensembles and Individual Instruction

If you are interested in participating in one of Vassar’s music ensembles, fill out the Ensembles Information Form (available in June) or add your name to the sign-up sheets posted in Skinner Hall during Orientation. If you are interested in taking lessons, view the Music Lessons information on the Music Department website, and sign up for auditions in Skinner Hall during New Student Orientation.
