FOXY, FIERCE AND FEARLESS [BFI Southbank and Dark Matter]

Erica McKoy in conversation with Professor Mia Mask to discuss the life and works of Pam Grier.
Professor Mia Mask has curated the season, Pam Grier: Foxy, fierce and fearless at the BFI, a 14-film retrospective. The season runs from Sept 2 to Oct 4 and presents three stages of Grier’s unorthodox career from the early ‘Sexploitation start-up’ era to Blaxploitation cult classics and a ‘Nostalgia for Pam’ phase.

Mia Mask is professor of Film at Vassar College, and is the author of the book 'Divas on Screen: Black Women in American Film'.

Pam Grier: Foxy, Fierce and Fearless continues at BFI Southbank until 4 October. Plus, the 25th anniversary release of Jackie Brown is in cinemas UK-wide now.
