Sexual Citizens: A Landmark Study of Sex, Power, and Assault on Campus

Join Jennifer Hirsch, Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, and Shamus Khan, Professor of Sociology and American Studies at Princeton University, for a panel conversation on their book, Sexual Citizens: A Landmark Study of Sex, Power, and Assault on Campus, published by WW Norton.

That work was realized as part of Columbia’s Sexual Health Initiative to Foster Transformation, or SHIFT, co-directed by Professor Hirsch and clinical psychologist Claude Ann Mellins, which was profiled by Jia Tolentino in the New Yorker in February of 2018. A review in Science described Sexual Citizens as “profoundly eye-opening,” and the book was listed as one of NPR’s best books of 2020.

All members of the Vassar community are invited to this special event.
