On September 19th, the Vassar Barns are hosting an informational session on iNaturalist, crowdsourced species identification system and an organism occurrence recording tool. You can use it to record your own observations, get help with identifications, collaborate with others to collect this kind of information for a common purpose, or access the observational data collected by iNaturalist users.
We'll get you started using the app, and explain how iNaturalist will help us track the species we find in our October 5th Aquablitz! We're looking for volunteers to document our discoveries in the Fall Kill using iNaturalist and this training will teach you how. You'll spend time in the classroom and outdoors practicing with iNaturalist on your smartphone.
